A little more about Think Tank....The bio

By THINK TANK

Think Tank started when a collaborative understanding was found by Tehetena Yonas and Douglas Keith in reaction to the absurdity of their metropolitan backdrop. What was once a perfunctory association with social convention was later revealed to be an intelligent urban canvas. They saw commercial logos, product placement and talking points saturated with persuasive cues aimed at the exploitation of natural human insecurities, feeding the publics bewildered desires for comfort and satisfaction.

The collaboration saw an opportunity to facilitate a conversation with the viewer, within a context that commercial enterprises intend to have proprietary right to, visual media. Think Tank chose to utilize the unsanctioned art of aerosol and stencil art as a means to communicate playful images that prompt introspection on contemporary and archetypal issues. Think Tank hopes that the publics predisposed conditioning to follow visual prompts will be amplified by artwork placed in highly visible and unsolicited locations.

Think Tank is appealing to the unconscious quest for a utopic society, to supplement the suffering of the individual mind. Think Tank chose to make works that intend a reactivate discourse with the ignored and passive dissonance between body and mind of the "modern" individual.
